Lots of Sick Kids!!!

I am not sure if all districts are experiencing the large number of sick students but, we sure are in Bellevue!!! There is an abundance of media coverage on the H1N1 virus and to be honest I really never thought it would radiate so close to home. Currently we are dismissing several sick children a day and taking the precautions to prevent further illness by keeping things as sanitary as possible. It is strange and a bit scary to know that the virus is in full force. However everyone seems to be okay and bouncing back so far. Others do not realize that teachers wear many hats and during times like these our nurses caps are on tight!

Curriculum Unit

Okay, so I will be the first person to admit that this course has been a bit intimidating and I am still not exactly sure what is going on. That being said I am excited about this curriculum unit. One of my professional goals for this school year, that has really put me outside of my comfort zone, is to incorporate more technology into my classroom. Creating this curriculum unit will be something that I will most definitely be able to use in my class and will also help me to meet my professional goal. I am trying to be as positive about this course as possible and get as much out of it as I can. Hopefully the rest of you are feeling that it is beneficial too.

Carbon Made

The list of websites had an abundance of great tools for teachers. The site that I chose to explore was titled, "Carbon Made." At this location individuals can create and display a portfolio of any nature. The description of the site said that many designers and artists utilize this site because it is prepared to except video and advanced images. A site such as this is would be a great place for students to display their own art work or projects. In addition parents and family members who are located in different areas could access their student's work.
